Over the years, provinces have been continuing to download costs of prescription drug expenses onto private health plans. As a result, businesses and their employees are paying more and more for healthcare coverage, due to outdated Medicare policies and despite public funding.

With the federal election date looming, affordable, easy and timely access to healthcare services is an important issue that should be top of mind for all Canadians. 

This period of time is an opportunity to engage with local representatives to support a modernized Medicare framework and promote a cost-effective solution that can be developed and deployed quickly.
