During the week of October 28, 2018 to November 4, 2018, CapriCMW's Jason Baughen will be traveling to the Dominican Republic, near the Haitian Border, to build two homes for local families.

On this trip, Jason will be joining our partners at Intact Insurance and Bridges to Community Canada (BTCC) to live in the community and work side-by-side with local leadership, masons and recipient families. Together, they will construct two safe and habitable cinderblock homes.

The cost of each home is $4,000.00, which is also Jason's fundraising goal. Please show your support by donating at the link below:

All donated funds will go directly to helping the Dominican families. All transportation and acommodation costs will be paid for by Intact and the trip participants.

Last November, CapriCMW's Dani Russell and Kelly Stafford joined Intact Insurance and BTCC on a similar trip to Nicaragua, where they also helped build two homes:

About Bridges to Community Canada

Bridges to Community Canada (BTCC) is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of impoverished communities in developing countries through volunteer service trips. In particular, BTCC focuses on farming communities in Jinotega, Nicaragua, a region deeply impacted by years of warfare throughout the 1970s and 1980s, leaving nearly 60% of its population living in extreme poverty. BTCC works closely with community leaders to help mitigate poverty through housing, water and sanitation, education and economic development.

Due to recent civil unrest in Nicaragua, volunteer service trips organized by BTCC for 2018 are being redirected to their second base of operations in an extremely impoverished region of the Dominion Republic.
