You may have heard that ICBC has introduced some changes to bring you a new way to renew your auto insurance. As of May 2022, some drivers will be able to renew their policy online. What's not changing is our commitment to you - CapriCMW's Insurance Advisors are here to offer support and guidance, making sure you have the right coverage for your unique needs.

What kind of policies are eligible?

Online renewal is available to private passenger vehicles owned by one person who does not need to make any coverage changes at the time of renewal. That means leased vehicles and jointly owned vehicles are excluded from online renewals for now. Other excluded transactions include Temporary Operation Permits, new policies, lapsed policies, midterm changes and cancellations.

What kind of policies are excluded?

  • jointly owned vehicles
  • leased vehicles
  • company-owned vehicles
  • motorcycles
  • trailers
  • collector vehicles
  • commercial policies
  • expired policies
  • if you have outstanding debt owed to ICBC
  • if you have coverage changes that you need to make to your policy

What policy changes can you make online?

Online renewals are limited policy changes:

  • renewing their existing coverage as is,
  • adding or remove listed drivers,
  • updating your address, and
  • changing how you use your vehicle

If policy is not eligible for online renewal, or if you would like to make coverage changes, CapriCMW's Insurance Advisors can renew your auto insurance over the phone, email or in-person at any of our Autoplan offices.

Visit CapriCMW.ca/auto to start your renewal anytime!
